Odisha Govt Jobs 2025: 1.5 Lakh Vacancies to Be Filled, 5,000+ Healthcare Jobs This Year

The Odisha government has announced a major recruitment drive to fill around 1.5 lakh government job vacancies over the next five years. In 2025 alone, the state will hire more than 5,000 healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, to improve public health services.

This announcement was made by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling during the CII-Odisha Healthcare Summit 2025 in Bhubaneswar. He said that over 4,000 healthcare workers were already recruited last year, and more will be hired to support the state’s growing medical needs.

To solve the shortage of doctors and improve healthcare in remote areas, nine new medical colleges will be opened in 2025–26. These include four MBBS colleges, four dental colleges, and one Ayurvedic college. Also, two more medical colleges in Talcher and Phulbani will start operating this year with 100 MBBS seats each.

These steps are part of the 2025–26 state budget and aim to improve healthcare access across Odisha.
