Educational Qualifications

  1. For JRF and Assistant Professor:
  • Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc.
  • Candidates must have scored at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in their qualifying degree.
  1. For Assistant Professor only:
  • Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for their Master’s degree (final year) can also apply. However, they must complete their qualifying exam with the required percentage of marks within two years from the date of the UGC NET result.

Age Limit

  • For JRF:
  • The upper age limit is 31 years as of June 1, 2024. Relaxation of up to 5 years is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories, women, and other specified groups.
  • For Assistant Professor:
  • There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the position of Assistant Professor.

UGC NET June 2024 Syllabus

The UGC NET syllabus comprises two papers:
